i completely agree. sky blue sky is a masterpiece. this is also the best lineup wilco has seen since their start. my wife is taking me to see them in columbia on september 19. i can’t wait.

Colour Revolt is easily one of the best bands I’ve seen in a couple of years. Every song left me salivating for more. There is a lot to be impressed with in these young guys.

I got heavily into Mineral about a month before EndSerenading came out (which, of course, also ended their career together). I still get bummed out by the fact that I never saw them live. The Gloria Record was great in their own right, but I would’ve loved to see some of the stuff from the Power of Failing.
I did get to see SDRE a couple of times before their ultimate demise, and those were two of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, I got the M. Ward record through eMusic. I had been sitting around on thirty songs for a while and finally decided to use them on the new M. Ward, the latest Neko Case, and a Thelonius Monk and Dizzy Gillespie record (I’m a closet jazz freak). Harvey Pekar is my hero.

I’m curious to hear your reaction to the M. Ward album. There is a lot more instrumentation than usual, which makes me adore it.

I’m so jealous. I need to get details from you soon. I finally watched Down By Law, or most of it. I love Tom Waits but I’m not much of a Jim Jarmusch fan. Aesthetically the film looked great, but the acting was pretty so-so and, as with every Jarmusch film, it was slow.

I am recieving the first disc of Sopranos Season 3 today. I’m also supposed to get a documentary about Tom Dawd tomorrow. I had mixed feelings about Match Point. It was kind of slow but had some redeeming qualities (and by redeeming qualities I mean Scarlet Johansen and a few other things as well).

I watched Sarah Silverman’s Jesus is Magic yesterday. It was almost entirely politically incorrect which Sarah can only be, but since I like that kind of junk, I enjoyed. It is abrassive at first but gets really good. Perhaps some of the best of it though was improvised stuff shown during the credits and making of section.
