Danielson- Ships

I have been a huge fan of Daniel Smith for many years. I find what he does a giant inspiration to my own music. This record is no exception. To see them as a band grow into what they are now is awesome. When I saw them this spring they were tight and seemed at the top of their game.

Destroyer- Destroyer’s Rubies

This was a early in the year record that seems to get bumped for newer things. This is a really solid record. I prefer Dan on Swan Lake but I feel like this is solid record. He channels Dylan at times.

Appleseed Cast- Peregrine

Appleseed Cast is and always will be one of my favorite bands. I owe much of what I am into by seeing them when I was 17. So for that alone whenever they release a record it gets tons of time in my stereo. I feel like they took side step on this record kind of combining the sounds of Low Level Owl and Two Conversation.

Arrah And The Ferns- Evan is a Vegan

This one of the just pure sugar pop records that I love. They totally remind of what I first loved with Mates of State. While they add another member to the mix they have same simplistic sound. I enjoy the use of banjo/uke.

Grizzly Bear- Yellow House

Atmosphere is something that has totally made or killed a record for me. This is one of those records that it really makes for me. There is a ton of texture in the songs. Layers of noise and then things like banjo come over top. They have come a long way since they became a full band.
